Constructions of the bridge connecting Wathurawa and Hagarangala in the Divisional Secretariat Division of Kalawana in the Ratnapura District implemented under the Rural Bridges Project of the State Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government, were auspiciously commenced on 19.01.2024 headed by Hon. Janaka Wakkumbura, the State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government.

This bridge is constructed by the Prefabricated Bridges Project implemented under financial assistance of Netherland. The estimated expenditure for this bridge of 30 metres in length and 5.5. metres in width to replace the earlier dilapidated bridge, is Rs.100 million. Over 1000 families will benefit with the construction of this bridge.

This occasion was graced by public representatives including Hon. Former Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Kalawana Pradeshiya Sabha and a group including the provincial Engineer of the Rural Bridges Project.
