The commencement of work of the bridge connecting Batugedera Rathnapura and Ihala Hakamuwa constructed under Rural Bridges Construction project implemented under State Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government has been initiated at the auspicious time on today. (17th).

This bridge is constructed by phase 5 of Rural Bridges Project implemented under Netherland’s funds. This bridge which is 30 M in length is constructed   connecting 02 divisional secretariats divisions called Rathnapura and palmadulla on behalf of dilapidated wire bridges and approximately 2000 families can benefit from this project.

For this event, Hon. State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, former minister, Ranjith Bandara of Sabaragamuwa Pradeshiya Sabha, Hon. Former Chairman, Lakshman Premarathna of Palmadulla Pradeshiya Sabha , Hon. Former Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Rathnapura Urban Council , former members of Pradeshiya Sabhas including officers had participated for this event.
