The first phase of the tourist centre constructed by the Neluwa Pradeshiya Sabha under provision of the Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government for providing accommodation to local and foreign tourists who arrive on sightseeing to Neluwa Lankagama area and Sinharaja Reserve which have become tourist attractions at present, was declared open under the leadership of Hon. Janaka Wakkumbura, the State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government on 16.01.2024 

This occasion was graced by Government officials including the Hon. Governor of the Southern Province,Dr.Willie Gamage, President of the Galle District Coordination Committee, Mr.Sampath Athukorala and public representatives of Neluwa and Thawalama.
